Coffee Culture

Why we're called Coffee Culture

Culture is what people do together, again and again. All over the world, one of those things is coffee.

In Istanbul it's brewed in a cezve. In Hanoi it wears a custard of whipped egg yolk and condensed milk. In Mexico it simmers in a clay pot with cinnamon and piloncillo. In Java the grounds settle at the bottom of a tubruk. We believe every cup tells a story, and our menu gathers 52 of them at one table.

That table is in Banda Aceh, a city often called the city of a thousand coffee houses, in the same province as the Gayo highlands. Founded with a passion for quality and community, Coffee Culture is more than a coffee shop. It's a place where coffee lovers meet.

Coffee country starts up the road.

Aceh is coffee country. Gayo Arabica grows in the highlands of Central Aceh, around Takengon, 197 km from our table as the crow flies. It's the nearest cup on the menu and the one we think of as home.
